Official Rules for "Meaningful Use"

On January 13, 2010, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology published the official rules governing the definition of "meaningful use" of electronic records to qualify for Medicare and Medicaid incentive payments.  These rules have been submitted to the Federal Register and can be accessed via the following link http://www.access.gpo.gov/su_docs/aces/fr-cont.html . There will be a public comment period that will begin on January 13 and extend through March 15 and those wishing to provide feedback are encouraged to access the following link http://www.regulations.gov/search/Regs/home.html#home and look for the title "Medicare and Medicaid Programs; Electronic Health Record Incentive Program." Medbizonics continues to follow the meaningful use discussion very closely. We will keep you updated.
